Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 27, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how 2138 ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Voltaro mobile application ("App") and our website.
By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices.
Information We Collect
Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, the following information is collected automatically:
- Anonymous identifier: A unique, randomly generated identifier is created on your device when you first launch the App. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information. It is stored locally on your device and is used to maintain your session.
- Device language and region: The App detects your device's language and region setting to display content in the appropriate language.
Built-in Browser
The App includes a built-in browser used to display the Privacy Policy and the Support page directly within the App. The built-in browser supports cookies (including third-party cookies) and local storage, which are standard browser technologies used by the websites you visit within it.
The built-in browser does not collect any additional data beyond what is described in the Automatically Collected Information section above. Any websites loaded in the built-in browser operate under their own privacy practices.
Location Data
The App requests access to your device's location to show nearby EV charging stations on the map. When location services are used:
- Your location is collected only while the App is in use
- Location data is used to display charging stations near you and calculate distances
- Your location is not transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties
- You can disable location access at any time in your device settings
Camera Access
The App requests camera access to scan QR codes at charging stations. When the camera is used:
- The camera is activated only when you open the QR scanner
- No photos or videos are captured, stored, or transmitted — only the QR code data is read
- You can revoke camera access at any time in your device settings
Local Data Storage
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Your reservation history and QR codes
- Favorite charging stations
- App preferences (measurement units, onboarding status)
- Cached station data for faster loading
This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear all local data through the App's Settings screen or by clearing app data in your device settings.
Support and Bug Reports
The App's Support page allows you to send us a message or report a bug. When you submit a support request, you may provide:
- Your name and email address
- A description of your question or the issue you encountered
- An optional file attachment — you can take a photo or video using your device's camera, or choose an existing file (such as a screenshot, image, or document) through your device's file picker
This information is submitted only when you choose to send a support request. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry and resolve the reported issue. The App itself does not access your camera directly for file attachments — photo and video capture is handled entirely by your device's built-in camera app.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Display charging stations near your location
- Display content in your preferred language
- Respond to your support requests
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The App's built-in browser may load websites that use their own cookies and tracking technologies. These websites operate under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
Data Retention
- Anonymous identifier: Stored on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
- Cookies and local storage: Follow standard browser expiration rules. You can clear them by clearing the App's data in your device settings.
- Local data (reservations, favorites, preferences): Stored on your device until you clear data through the App's Settings or uninstall the App.
- Support requests: Retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Data transmitted by the App uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) where possible. Some network connections may use unencrypted HTTP.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the following options to control your data:
- Location access: You can disable location permission for the App at any time in your device settings. The App will continue to work, but you will not see stations near you on the map.
- Camera access: You can revoke camera permission in your device settings. QR scanning will not be available, but all other features will work normally.
- Clear local data: Use the "Clear all data" option in the App's Settings to remove reservations, favorites, and preferences. This also resets your anonymous identifier.
- Cookies and local storage: Clear the App's data in your device settings to remove all cookies and local storage used by the built-in browser.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately so we can promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
